The project \u201cTechnology for Manufacturing Type IV Gaseous Hydrogen Storage Tanks for Stationary Applications and Specialised Vehicles \u2013 Development of Innovative Components and Research Systems for Hydrogen Production\u201d<\/strong> (H2InnoHub) is funded under the 2026 subsidy awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.<\/span><\/p>

The objective of the project is to develop and validate the technology for Type IV composite hydrogen storage tanks intended for stationary applications and specialized vehicles. As part of the work, a tank model will be developed and a prototype will be built to enable the evaluation of the adopted material and technological solutions. <\/span><\/p>

The project also includes the development of innovative components for hydrogen production, including an electrolyser stack equipped with dedicated electrodes for the HER and OER processes. A key element of the work will be the commissioning of a laboratory hydrogen production facility\u00a0and the integration of test benches for evaluating materials, components, and technologies related to electrolyzers. <\/span><\/p>

As part of the project, research will be conducted on the optimisation of catalyst deposition technology, component validation and methods for monitoring electrode degradation. The solutions developed are intended to support the development of scalable and efficient hydrogen technologies, including AWE electrolysers and hydrogen storage systems. <\/span><\/p>

The project will result in a set of solutions and research tools for hydrogen technologies, including: <\/strong><\/p>

  • a validated model of a composite hydrogen storage tank,<\/span><\/li>
  • a prototype Type IV gaseous hydrogen tank,<\/li>
  • a laboratory test bench for the research and testing of electrolysers,<\/li>
  • an integrated platform for testing materials and hydrogen technologies,<\/li>
  • a methodology for monitoring electrode degradation based on the PTA technique,<\/span><\/li>
  • an optimised catalyst deposition technology,<\/li>
  • a laboratory-validated electrolyser system with novel stacks produced using additive manufacturing<\/li><\/ul>
