The project \u201eThermosetting secondary raw materials \u2013 analysis of properties and possibilities for utilisation\u201d<\/strong> (ALMAT) is funded under the subsidy awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The goal of the project is to develop methods for assessing the type and degree of operational degradation of thermosetting plastics, including secondary materials. The research will cover thermosetting resins used as matrices for protective coatings, such as paints and varnishes, as well as three-dimensional profiles used as structural materials. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The project is implemented as an industrial doctorate and combines scientific research with the practical assessment of possibilities for reusing thermosetting secondary raw materials. In the first stage of the project, a database of materials will be created and research methods necessary for further analyses will be selected. A summary of legal and normative requirements will also be prepared to define the formal framework for the utilisation of this type of material in the subsequent years of the project. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>

The project will result in a set of tools and data supporting the assessment of properties and possibilities for the use of thermosetting secondary raw materials. The project will result in the development of:<\/span> <\/span><\/p>

  • a database of secondary raw materials, including qualitative and quantitative composition analysis,<\/span><\/li>
  • a summary of legal and normative requirements concerning the analysed materials,<\/span><\/li>
  • a methodology for assessing the type and progress of degradation of thermosetting plastics,<\/span> <\/li>
  • a database of research methods for further work on material property assessment,<\/span> <\/li>
  • recommendations concerning the possibilities for utilising thermosetting secondary raw materials.<\/span> <\/span><\/li><\/ul>
