The hydrogen cell is the main source of electricity for the vehicle. In addition to that, the vehicles has a 15 kWh buffer battery to store excess electricity generated by the fuel cell and by the braking recuperation system. The drive system consists of an inverter and a central motor connected via a differential gear to the rear axle of the vehicle.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>PHOTOVOLTAICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Photovoltaic panels are installed on the roof of the vehicle to improve the overall energy balance. Renewable energy sources will allow on-board equipment to be supported (auxiliary power at standstill, standby, etc.) without consuming the energy stored in the batteries. <\/p>\n<p><strong>COMMUNICATION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>An innovative telemetry system will be installed on board of the vehicle, enabling two-way communication with the V2I environment, which is particularly important when the parameters of key components of the electrical and hydrogen systems need to be controlled remotely. The vehicle will be used mainly in cities and urban areas and will be integrated into the overarching IT systems of the urban network as part of the Smart City technology implemented. However, given its large coverage, it will be able to operate freely in non-urban and urbanised areas.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>STYLING AND ZERO-EMISSIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given the vehicle&#8217;s long range of 450 km and its payload of more than 1,000 kg, its kerb weight has been optimised, among other things, in terms of the development of vehicle body components made of composite materials. The technology also made it possible to achieve the proposed modern vehicle styling. The zero-emission e-VAN delivery vehicle is related to one of the main areas of activity of the \u0141ukasiewicz Research Network \u2013 Intelligent Mobility.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>SAFETY<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The design of the vehicle takes into account the latest trends and requirements that will apply from the second half of 2022 considering ergonomics and the safety of the driver and other road users. A unique monitoring system will be used to monitor the space around the moving vehicle, informing and alerting the driver of potential hazards and anomalies. <\/p>\n<p><strong>RELEVANCE OF THE PROJECT<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The e-Van project responds to current socio-economic needs related to the development of electromobility.
