The \u201cAutonomous Transport\u201d<\/strong> project is supported by a designated grant from the President of the \u0141ukasiewicz Centre, under a contract concluded on 18.06.2024.<\/p>\n

As part of a research project related to the area of autonomous transport, five Proof-of-Concept tasks\/projects are planned to be launched to develop a group of technologies of interest to the private and public sectors. The key objective of the research project is to obtain the possibility of commercialising the solutions in question and to obtain a wide recipients for the technology, which would justify the need to build a Strategic \u0141ukasiewicz Programme on autonomous transport. <\/p>\n

During the implementation of the grant, the following PoC projects are planned to be launched:<\/p>\n

\u00b7 PoC 1 (\u0141-PIMOT) \u2013 a autonomous system in intralogistics, taking into account activities around the shop floor or warehouse in a dynamic outdoor environment. The subject of the project is the development of an autonomy system with software for AMR vehicles that drive on yards located outside production halls. The autonomy algorithms will be tested in a built simulation environment. The software test simulation environment built will be based on the real-life equivalent of a vehicle from a potential customer or the Institutes’s unmanned vehicle. The autonomy system planned for development will consist of a main control unit, stereo cameras, satellite navigation, inertial navigation and the developed software. Furthermore, the project plans to develop software that will be an integral part of what is known as WMS (Warehouse management system) which will make it possible to control the operation of AMR vehicles equipped with the autonomy system. <\/p>\n

\u00b7 PoC 2 (\u0141-ILOT) \u2013 increasing operational capacity for autonomous transport. As part of the project under development, \u0141-ILOT will develop an anti-icing system for autonomy-equipped UAVs. The solution aims to enhance the ability of UAVs to operate autonomously in harsh weather conditions. <\/p>\n

\u00b7 PoC 3 (\u0141-IEL) \u2013 increasing operational capabilities for autonomous intralogistics platforms. As part of the project, \u0141-IEL will develop an inductive charging system for intralogistics autonomous platforms used in industry. The inductive charging technology developed will be dedicated to industrial robots that move in or out of production halls. The development of the technology will streamline autonomous driving algorithms and speed up the process of so-called vehicle docking for charging. <\/p>\n

\u00b7 PoC 4 (\u0141-PIAP) \u2013 introduction of NFN (Natural FeaturesNavigation) type autonomy for the \u0141-PIAP AGV platform. The PoC project aims to develop an AGV\/AMR platform with a payload of 500 kg for industry. The platform will be equipped with a navigation system that will enable it to navigate the production halls autonomously. <\/p>\n

\u00b7 PoC5 (\u0141-PIT) \u2013 autonomous rail vehicle control system (SMART-TRAM). \u0141-PIT will work to develop an autonomous control system for trams, including the addition of mechanisms for obstacle detection. As part of the research project, there are also plans to integrate and exchange experiences between the \u0141ukasiewicz Institutes working on various aspects of autonomous transport. Such exchange is aimed at learning about the design processes, tools and available datasets that are used by the various consortium participants.
