17 October 2024 will become an important date in the development of hydrogen technology in Poland. On that day, a letter of intent was signed between the \u0141ukasiewicz Institute of Electrical Engineering and the Central Office of Measures (GUM). <\/div>\n
One area of intended cooperation is the construction of a stationary hydrogen dispenser test station in conformity with the guidelines in OIML Regulation R139.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The development of technologies for application of hydrogen as an alternative energy source requires establishing an adequate research infrastructure to ensure the quality, accuracy and compliance of hydrogen dispensing devices with international standards.   This will enable verification of equipment compliance with the MID requirements and the promotion of hydrogen infrastructure development in accordance with AFIR. The stakeholders of testing services for hydrogen dispensing systems may include certification bodies, market surveillance authorities, manufacturers of hydrogen dispensing systems and their components, or operators of hydrogen refuelling stations.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Synergies with the notified body in conformity assessment will bolster the development of cooperation in this area and divert investment towards operations that are strategic to the national economy. During the meeting held between representatives of GUM and the \u0141ukasiewicz Institute of Electrical Engineering at its headquarters in Warsaw, areas of shared focus were discussed and the tasks and roles of the cooperation partners were confirmed. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Harnessing the technological competences and resources to enable compliance of domestic institutions and manufacturers with legal requirements, including those applicable to certification and EU laws, is a key issue for the cooperation partners.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The representatives from GUM were: Rafa\u0142 K\u0119pka, GUM Vice-President; Paulina Olszewska, Director of the Certification Department; Ma\u0142gorzata Brzozowska-Kruczek, Director of the Department for Supervision and Inspection; Katarzyna Borowicz, Deputy Director of the Department for Innovation and Development; and Adam Brzozowski, Deputy Director of the Mechanical and Acoustic Engineering Laboratories.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Representing the Institute were: Sebastian Wydra, Managing Director; Marcin Parchomiuk, Deputy Director for Research; Katarzyna Woche\u0144, Deputy Director for Finance and Operations; Iwona Koltsov, Director of the Research Centre for Hydrogen Technologies; and Grzegorz Stawicki, Director of the Research Centre for Electromobility and Smart Transport. <\/div>\n<\/div>\n
