National Projects
The project „EcoTorque – a family of multiphase drive systems for commercial vehicles” is funded under the 2025 subsidy awarded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
Project value: 1,175,265.00 PLN
Funding amount: 1,175,265.00 PLN
The goal of the project is to develop a family of drive systems for electric commercial vehicles, based on technological and design solutions previously developed at the Institute. The project draws on experience gained from previous projects in the field of electric drive systems, such as:
- a 115-kW permanent-magnet synchronous motor,
- an integrated drive system comprising a motor, inverter, and on-board charger,
- a six-phase traction inverter for commercial vehicles with a maximum power of 250 kW.
As part of the project, solutions will be developed to standardize the design of control systems and inverter power modules. This will enable the scaling of drive systems and their adaptation to various vehicle platforms, particularly for electric commercial vehicles.
The project will result in a modular multiphase drive system based on a common power electronics and control architecture. This approach will help optimize the cost of vehicle electrification and facilitate the practical deployment of the developed solutions.
The project will result in the development of:
- a six-phase inverter power electronics system,
- a control system for the six-phase inverter power electronics module,
- algorithms for controlling the drive system,
- two drive models in six-phase and nine-phase versions.
Implementation period: April 1, 2025–December 31, 2026
