Energy of the future for the state and the economy

KIEDY?

GDZIE?

The Łukasiewicz Research Network, together with the Łukasiewicz Centre, is systematically developing its competences and expanding its cooperation in the energy and defence sectors.

Together with Wojskowe Centralne Biuro Konstrukcyjno-Technologiczne S.A., they are working to develop cutting-edge technologies that will strengthen national security and support the energy transition.

As part of the initiative, partners will focus on, among other things:

  • power electronic systems for bidirectional energy conversion,
  • energy storage systems based on batteries and supercapacitors,
  • electric and hybrid drive systems and control systems for special vehicles,
  • hydrogen technologies – including storage, use in fuel cells and use in stationary and mobile solutions.

Dr inż. Sebastian Wydra, Director of The Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering, points out that the aim of the cooperation with WCBKT is to support the launch of a product related to energy security and defence on the Polish market.

Thanks to its broad competence in this area, the Institute is responsible for the rapid and effective adaptation of the solution to the requirements of Polish defence system. The designed system will be used primarily in the military to recharge aerial vehicles, but its application will also extend to the civilian sector, including commercial aviation.

An agreement to this effect was signed during the XXXIII International Defence Industry Exhibition in Kielce.

President of the Łukasiewicz Centre, Dr Hubert Cichocki, points out that the signed agreement is a practical example of the implementation of a strategic partnership with the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ). According to him, the cooperation will allow to combine the competences of the institutes of the Łukasiewicz Research Network with the potential of the PGZ companies in areas where their activities are complementary. He also expressed conviction that joint efforts will result in products that are not only awarded but, above all, successfully marketed. He added that both parties are ready to work intensively on their development.

Thanks to the cooperation between The Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering and WCBKT, innovative energy and hydrogen technologies of strategic importance to the state and the economy will be developed.
