During the Energy Transformation Leaders Gala, held as part of the Polish Climate Congress on March 25 this year. in Warsaw, Łukasiewicz – IEL was honored with a statuette in the Energy Transformation Leaders competition.
The competition, organized by the European Foundation for Sustainable Investment (EFIZ), recognizes projects that provide real support for energy transition and the development of a low-carbon economy. The competition jury appreciated the DTH – Distributed Hybrid Transformer project developed at the Institute.
Deputy Director Pawel Mosak received the award on behalf of the Institute.
The DTH is a 630 kVA prototype transformer for MV/NV substation operation that enables:
- Real-time voltage stabilization,
- Voltage regulation within ±10%,
- Reactive power and voltage asymmetry compensation,
- Supporting grid operation with a large share of renewable sources.
As Dr. Ing. emphasizes Wojciech Matelski, Director of the Research Center for Energy Conversion and Storage: “DTH is an active component of modern Smart Grid systems and a solution to the challenges of today’s energy transition, improving the quality of grid voltage and supporting the integration of RES sources.”
The project was carried out thanks to funding under the POIR program, measure 4.1.4, and the function of project manager was performed by Tomasz Sak.
