Innovations from Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering

Researchers at Lukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering have developed a number of innovative solutions, including:

  • Varnishes, paints and functionalised compositions – provide electromagnetic radiation shielding, flame resistance, increased thermal conductivity and mechanical strength, as well as anti-static and biostatic properties.
  • Thermoelectric materials – enable bi-directional conversion of electrical and thermal energy.
  • Biomimetic materials – mimic the architecture, appearance and function of materials and living organisms.
  • Composites and ceramics – characterised by increased impact strength and pressure resistance.
  • Modern heating systems – corrosion- and moisture-resistant, powered between 24-400V, lightweight, flexible and chemically inert.

Use of modern technology

The solutions developed can be used in:

  • camouflaging and screening of objects,
  • protection of facilities and the public,
  • repairing and improving the functioning of defence systems.
