Completed projects
Note that the Institute of Electrical Engineering is the beneficiary of a project co-financed by the National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of the “MODERN MATERIAL TECHNOLOGIES” PROGRAMME entitled: Materials research for the development of a silicon carbide IGBT transistor and EV charging device.
The scientific objective of the project is to develop a silicon carbide IGBT transistor for power electronics. The aim of the industrial research is to develop a solid state transformer (SST) circuit, which is of key importance in many areas of application and, in particular, in the rapidly growing EV market. Based on this circuit, two novel EV charging devices will be completed, and the achievement of the features set out for them will be achieved using silicon carbide components. The first successful implementations of such devices appeared on the global market only in 2016, and therefore this project is an attempt to join the beginning of a new phase of technology and social development in the world.
The project is being implemented by a consortium consisting of:
- Institute of Electron Technology – Leader
- Institute of Electrical Engineering
- DACPOL Service Sp. z o.o.
under contract no. TECHMATSTRATEG1/347452/1/NCBR/2017.
Project execution period: 01.12.2017 – 30.09.2021 r.
Amount of project funding 6.470.192 PLN
Amount of funding for tasks carried out at IEL: 1.350.000 PLN
