Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering (IEL) started a joint project with Wojskowe Centralne Biuro Konstrukcyjno-Technologiczne S.A. (WCBKT), by signing a contract on February, 9 for the development of modern power systems for the Polish Navy.

The project is an extension of previous activities of the Institute and JRCT in the area of high-power power electronics and energy security, which started during last year’s International Defence Industry Exhibition (MSPO).

The power systems will be individually designed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Defence. By developing expertise in advanced power electronics, the Institute is strengthening its technological capabilities to implement complex energy solutions for the defence sector.

Cooperation with the WCBKT allows to combine scientific potential with industrial experience, which contributes to strengthening the Navy’s operational capabilities. The project is an example of successful cooperation between science and industry for the benefit of national security.

The signed contract creates another phase of close cooperation between Łukasiewicz and WCBKT S.A., aimed at combining scientific and industrial competences in the field of energy technology and defence.

Łukasiewicz – IEL has been developing energy conversion technologies and power infrastructure – for ports, ships, railways and the military sector – for more than 80 years. The joint activities with the WCBKT and the Polish Armaments Group show that Polish science and industry are ready to create modern energy solutions of strategic importance.
