The development of nuclear power in Poland is not only about significant infrastructure investments, but also about consistently building the competence necessary to implement projects in this sector.

On March 19-20, 2026. A representative of the Łukasiewicz-Electrotechnical Institute, Justyna Wronowska, head of the Certification Department, participated in events organized as part of the Baltic Nuclear Energy Forum. On the first day, she participated in a workshop on quality issues in the nuclear sector, while on the second day she attended a conference focusing on aspects of leadership and management in areas of high responsibility.

The workshop covered issues related to preparing organizations to participate in nuclear projects, including:

  • quality requirements, including those resulting from the Polish Nuclear Power Program (PPEJ),
  • industry standards, such as ASME NQA-1 and ISO 19443,
  • quality management systems,
  • Building and maintaining a culture of safety.

Entering the nuclear supply chain requires meeting stringent quality standards, full organizational readiness, and applying high standards throughout the project life cycle.

Participation in nuclear projects is a necessity:

  • Ensure full traceability of processes and components,
  • Implementation of quality systems in accordance with the requirements of the nuclear industry,
  • Preparing organizations for audits and certification processes,
  • Developing a safety culture as an integral part of management.

The second day of the event was devoted to the topics of management, decision-making and the role of leadership in sectors with heightened security requirements. The system approach necessary for the stable development of nuclear power, in which quality and competence are the foundation of operations, is discussed.
