The team from the Łukasiewicz-Institute of Electrical Engineering consisting of: Iwona Koltsov, Dariusz Świerczyński, Edward Bramson, Beata Kondratowicz-Kucewicz and Mateusz Łuba are implementing the international project “4D HYDROGEN” under a consortium with TMBK Partners – the Polish Project Leader. We wrote on the launch of the project here:

The first phase of work to identify the necessary components needed to build a green ammonia plant from hydrogen derived from renewable energy sources has been completed. For the initial calculations, the power supply for hydrogen production with a PV system has been designed, taking into account weather conditions in Poland. The electricity demand from RES for ammonia production was determined, taking into account the energy conversion efficiency chain during electricity production and storage.

The first milestone achieved in the project is a database of green ammonia plant components using renewable energy. The parameters of commercially offered equipment listed in the database will be used in simulations of hydrogen and ammonia production processes from laboratory to industrial scale.
