As of 18 September 2026, Dr Jakub Gadek has been appointed Acting Director of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering.
Dr Jakub Gadek has many years of experience in managing teams, projects and research and development institutions. During his career, he has served as Director of the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Industrial Organic Chemistry and the Łukasiewicz – Institute for Sustainable Technologies, as well as Deputy Director for Research at the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering.
He also gained professional experience at the National Science Centre in Kraków, where he worked as a discipline coordinator in the fields of science and engineering and represented the NCN internationally. He was also a member of the Science Europe Research Careers Working Group.
He is an expert for the European Commission, NCBR, CPPC and PARP, and a member of the Mazovian Innovation Council established by the Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. He was also a member of the Scientific Council of NASK National Research Institute.
Dr Jakub Gadek graduated from the Faculty of Technical Physics, Information Technology and Applied Mathematics at Lodz University of Technology, where he also obtained a PhD in technical sciences in the field of computer science. He completed an MBA at the Krakow University of Economics, the Oxford Executive Leadership Programme at the University of Oxford, and the Science Managers Academy organised by the Foundation for Polish Science.
His knowledge, experience and thorough understanding of the Institute will support the delivery of future research, development and implementation projects, while further strengthening cooperation between the Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering, the scientific community and industry.
