On May 7, 2026, the headquarters of Łukasiewicz – Institute of Electrical Engineering hosted Prof. Maria Mrówczyńska, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. This was the second visit of Ms. Deputy Minister to the Institute and an important part of the dialogue on the development of research infrastructure, directions of scientific activity and cooperation between science and industry.

The meeting began with a presentation by the Institute’s Director, Marcin Parchomiuk, Ph.D., who presented the key areas of Lukasiewicz – IEL’s activities, ongoing projects and the development of research infrastructure in five locations: Warsaw, Wroclaw, Gdansk, Lublin and Międzylesie near Klodzko. The Institute’s personnel potential, the structure of laboratories and Research Centers, and the role of the Institute in the system of research and implementation for the Polish power and electrical engineering sectors were also discussed.

An important topic of discussion was the investments being made under the National Reconstruction Plan (NRP). The scope of the research capacity expansion project was presented, which includes the modernization and construction of laboratory infrastructure in the areas of electromobility, hydrogen technologies, power electronics, electrical power apparatus, and GaN and SiC technologies. The value of the project exceeds PLN 120 million, of which more than PLN 70 million is subsidized.

After the presentation part, Mrs. Deputy Minister got directly acquainted with the Institute’s research infrastructure, including new research stations purchased with KPO funds and investment subsidies. The visit was also an opportunity to discuss plans for further cooperation, the directions of the Institute’s development, issues related to the separation of the Experimental and Production Department in Międzylesie near Klodzko, as well as preparations for the Institute’s 80th anniversary and the 60th anniversary of the DDP.

The visit confirmed the significant scale of the Institute’s activities and the range of investments underway, which strengthen its research potential and open up new opportunities for cooperation with the business community.
